Description:
I am always amazed with new perspectives and thinking around Ethics and how this topic seems to unfold and develop. This training covers important guidelines set out by our professional organizations and licensure boards around Ethics as an Art Therapist and Professional. In the training, we will take a deeper dive into the “self” as a professional and person. Asking ourselves "why we do this work" and how that understanding impacts us, our clients, our organizations and our work. We will discuss Trauma Stewardship, Burn-out and Compassion-Fatigue as systems that impact ethics and use art techniques and expressive materials to deepen our understanding. I am excited to engage in this journey with other Art Therapists and Professionals looking to care for themselves as well as they care for others. -Jodi Bessinger MA, LPAT, LPCC
